Mind Matters brings Dr. Kay Redfield Jamison, Expert on Mood Disorders, to Campus

January 29, 2016

On January 28, over two hundred students and community members packed Sudler Hall to hear Dr. Kay Redfield Jamison, bestselling author and expert on mood disorders, speak about her personal and professional perspectives on life with mania and bipolar disease. The event was led by undergraduate student organization Mind Matters with support from The Wellness Project and brought together students from across Yale College and the graduate and professional schools along with members of the community to hear Dr. Jamison’s accounts. Dr. Jamison is the author of many books on mood disorders; her most famous, An Unquiet Mind, documents her own struggle with bipolar disease, mania, and suicide and is often cited as one of the best memoirs about living with and understanding the complexity of mental illness. Dr. Jamison is the Dalio Family Professor of Mood Disorders at John Hopkins University. The event was the largest ever held by Mind Matters.
